IFM-SEI lobbys for children's participation in Children's Rights Forum

19.06.2007: IFM-SEI was well represented at the first meeting of the European Forum on Children's Rights last week. Three members of IFM-SEI were at the meeting strongly advocating real participation of children in the process.

The meeting was attended by 200 people from all sectors including representatives of children's organisations. The main topics for discussion were juridical processes and the protection of children against child pornography and prostitution. In addition, the process for setting up the new forum was discussed. IFM together with other representatives of civil society stressed the importance of meaningful participation of children not only in processes directly affecting them but also in wider issues.
