The Secretariat consists of four people:
Tamsin Pearce, Secretary General
Hello, my name is Tamsin and I am 30 years old. I have been elected as IFM-SEI's secretary general in May 2007 for a three-year term. I am very happy to be able to work for such a dynamic and diverse organisation with a motivated and talented team.I have always been an activ volunteer in IFM-SEI. My organisation, Woodcraft Folk, is a member for 10 years and since I have joined it aged six, I really have the impression that I grew up in the movement. My main tasks are the supervision and the management of financial resources, the organisation of meetings, the representation of IFM-SEI in questions concerning children's rights and the support of our member organisations.
Ingrid De Kock, Secretary
Hello everybody, my name is Ingried De Kock, I am 50 years old and I work already for 30 years in the IFM-SEI secretariat in Brussels as a secretary. Aged 18 I begun with a very old QWERTY typewriter, a stencil machine and quite a few cuts and collages to do by hand. Back then we didn't have many resources. Together with the secretary generals in this time we tried to give IFM-SEI an international dimension and to strive deeply for children's rights. During my whole career I have met lovely people and lots of things have changed. I have seen IFM grow up and explore new ways of socialist education. I learnt so much thanks to many people and, the most important, I love my work! Working for and with children and young people is something very special and precious. I begin to be a little bit the living memory of IFM-SEI, but my motivation to form a strong team together with Tamsin, Martin and Christine is still very strong. "Together we will be powerful..."
Martin Mensing-Braun, EVS Volunteer
Hi! My name is Martin Mensing-Braun, I am 21 years old and I am a volunteer based in the IFM-SEI Secretariat for one year in the framework of the European Voluntary Service.
Most of the time I work for the "All Together' project, the "Train for Change" Camp 2010, the website and the newsletter, but also participate in many other great projects.
I have become a member of Rote Falken and Kinderfreunde Austria when I was 10 and I have grown up in the movement. For a long time I have had a youth group and I have been a trainer in the region of Salzburg for some years now. It is a great please for me to work for IFM-SEI and to get to know the different member organisations and their different styles, activities and values, and to meet lots of new friends. As my predecessor and friend said, "I am convinced that we can create a better world if we work together".
Christine Sudbrock, project officer
Hi everybody! My name is Christine and I am 27 years old. I joined IFM-SEI in 2010
as a project officer for the "Peers without frontiers" project
and I also help with many of the other interesting IFM-activities.
I am very happy to join the international IFM-family and already feel
very welcome within the organisation!
In Germany I grew up within a youth organisation strongly committed to children and youth rights and for many, many years I have volunteered in this field. Now I am enthusiastic about striving together with all of you for children and youth rights all over the world! I am sure that we will set up a succesful project while learning many things from each other and making new friends on our way.
